I recently got addicted to Stargate SG-1, which ended up with me going through the entire seasons 1-4 in an almost continuous single seating. It was a wonder I didn't start moulding onto the chair in front of my mac, complete with cobwebs, several layers of dust and post-tv-sg1-watching-marathon seizures. =p

Anyway, needless to say, I decided to feed my obsessiveness and temporary lack of episodes to continue said marathon induced boredom by making icons. (I must sound really pathetic right now... *sigh*) These did give me the chance to re-acquaint myself again with photoshop though, which I recently managed to reinstall onto my laptop after the last unfortunate incident that wiped up my last hd. I know it's a lame excuse, but I'm still a bit desperate in trying to stave off the mountain on my desk that is my dissertation.

So here they are, the icons I mean. This batch is of Daniel and Sam from season 1 and 2, though not necessarily shippy in any sense. There are also some stock images based ones, which I made quite a few months ago.

I made these icons some time back amongst the HP hype shortly after the release of GOF, but didn't manage to get around to posting them cause I was a little too bogged down with university assignments. So this is a clearing house of sorts. They're mostly Harry-Cedric centred, with one Harry-Draco related (mostly images, except 3 that are text-based), so if you're not into slash, DON'T click on the LJ cut.

True to my very unfortunate old habits, I've been neglecting my journal for a while. So since I've finally managed to settle down to the holidays (though I'm still struggling to plow through my dissertation), I've gone back to dig through some of my old stuff and made icons again to stave off my boredom after staring at really boring figures and tedious academic drabble for hours on end.

I've also finally managed to get a copy of Perhaps Love some time ago, so I did some screen caps and made some icons. Personally, I like the movie, though it's not exactly a romantic one. I like the emotional impact that Takeshi's character brought to the film, and I did like the resolution of the triangle (hope this is not too much like a spoiler).

In addition to icons from Perhaps Love, I sort of went through other pictures in my every expanding photo archive (I should really start archiving some of these stuff... sigh) and did some more icons from Infernal Affairs, Sound of Colors, Chungking Express, Happy Together and some other miscellanous stock images from Getty.

I had my laptop crash recently and thought that I had lost all of my old illustrations and manipulated images. Then I found some of them again, this time in my old photobucket account, so I thought I might just post some of them here. I've posted these before at Portkey.org, so if you think you've seen these before, chances are that you have. My user ID in Portkey.org was Reeve too, though I was never very active in Portkey or any other fandom.

I intended these to be shared, so I won't mind if you use them, but if you do, please just let me know.

The first 2 are Harry/Hermione oriented, and the last is of Sirius, James and Lily during their school days.

I've always followed Hong Kong cinema since I was child, because I guess that was what was common for the Chinese diaspora around the world before China began opening its doors to the world and Pan-Asian production became the norm as it is now. And because I have yet to come across icons made from some of my favourite movies, I've taken to going through some of my picture collection and try to contribute to the ever growing LJ communities online.

And so here they are, coming from movies like Happy Together, Chung King Express, Perhaps Love, Infernal Affairs, Hero, War of the Underworld and Ashes of Time. They didn't turn out as clear as I had hoped, as I was struggling with OpenOffice and Preview in Mac cause I had suffered a hardware crash before this and lost my copy of Photoshop. Really sorry about that.

Anyway, these are to be shared, so if you like, you can take all you want. Credit is not necessary, but if you do, it'd be nice.

Not one to usually finish any project that I might have unwittingly started, I feel like I might have just put pen to paper in yet another similarly fated project as I embark on this livejournal. Given my propensity towards short-attention-spanned mood swings and perpetual procrastination, I have a feeling that I would most likely update UNfaithfully.

With that said, I found that there are things that I'd like to share, so that's why I'm here, hoping against 'prevalent statistics' that this will not be yet another stillborn project. So here's to hoping too that I manage to mug through the mind-boggling HTML codings of LJ (at least to my highly IT handicapped brain) and post what my rare periodic artistic outburst may have produced, before that little nagging conscience that is pushing me loses its and my motivations as well. Sigh...
